FREE PARENT GUIDE & RESOURCE KITS First 5 California

In partnership with the California Children and Families Commission, County Commissions representing each county were created to direct funds to help children in local communities. The goal is to give parents the necessary tools and resources to support their children's healthy development and ensure that they are ready for school. The Parent's Guide is one such source.

The Parent's Guide is filled with essential information and resources for the early years. Research shows that the emotional, physical, and intellectual environment during the children's first five years has a major impact on how their brains develop. The experiences children have with parents and caregivers affect their success and well-being in school and adulthood.

The Guides are great for fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles, teachers, guardians, child development students etc. It provides a glimpse into the wonderful adventure of raising children. It provides information, local resources, useful phone numbers, web addresses and more.

Free kits may be obtained through local Commission Distribution Partner, La Costa Valley Preschool and Kindergarten. The school is located at 2276 Calle Barcelona in La Costa. The phone number is 760 436-2797. The nationally accredited school provides educational programs for North County's Children and is an active First 5 California supporter and partner.
